Eventus Legal are recruiting for a Legal Secretary ideally with experience in residential conveyancing to join a law firm in their Bishop Auckland, County Durham office. This is a permanent job, offered on a full-time basis. The firm offers a generous salary, along with a holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays.

Role responsibilities

  • Opening files on practice management system (Leap)
  • Obtaining ID, conducting AML searches and media checks etc.
  • Preparing forms
  • Preparing documentation relevant to client matters
  • Greeting visitors to the office
  • Corresponding with clients and/or other law firms by e‑mail, letter, or telephone
  • Photocopying
  • Preparing invoices
  • Closing files on practice management system

Person specification

Applications are sought from experienced legal secretaries, ideally those with experience in conveyancing matters, although other disciplines are welcomed. You will also have good typing and IT skills, including previous use of a case‑management system (Leap would be advantageous). Furthermore, you will also have excellent customer service skills and a strong desire to offer outstanding service, with the ability to work as part of a team to contribute to the friendly working atmosphere.
