The Senior Event Manager holds overall accountability for the operational delivery of Events International’s event portfolio, ensuring complex, bespoke, travel-led corporate hospitality programmes are delivered safely, smoothly and to a consistently high standard.
Events International delivers multi-day, multi-location and often international events, requiring detailed planning, strong supplier coordination and confident decision-making. This role provides senior operational leadership, balancing hands-on oversight with strategic planning, people leadership and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership & Event Delivery
- Hold end-to-end operational accountability for Events International’s event portfolio
- Oversee delivery of events from initial brief through to live delivery and post-event review
- Provide senior oversight across complex event logistics, including:
- UK and overseas travel
- Accommodation and venue coordination
- Transport providers and suppliers
- Staffing and on-site delivery planning
- Act as the senior operational escalation point during live events and programmes
- Make confident, timely decisions during high-pressure situations
- Ensure consistency, quality and attention to detail across all events
- Line management of Event & Operation Lead/ Ops Executives
- Provide clear direction, prioritisation and operational decision-making support
- Balance workloads across multiple concurrent events and programmes
- Support performance, development and capability building within the team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and ownership
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of operational roles
- Act as a senior operational presence with key clients, providing confidence and reassurance
- Work closely with Sales and Account teams to ensure delivery aligns with client proposals
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
- Clients
- Venues and hotels
- Transport providers
- DMCs and specialist suppliers
- Maintain oversight of health & safety and risk management across all events
- Ensure risk assessments, supplier documentation and safety planning are in place
- Lead contingency planning for travel disruption, weather, logistics or supplier failure
- Take ownership of incident management and post-event reviews where required
- Maintain oversight of operational budgets and event costs
- Work closely with Finance to manage forecasting, cost control and margin protection
- Ensure operational decisions support commercial outcomes
- Provide operational input into pricing, proposals and feasibility discussions
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and ways of working
- Embed learning from post-event reviews and client feedback
- Provide operational insight, reporting and recommendations to senior leadership
- Support wider business initiatives, growth and operational maturity
Skills & Experience
- Significant operational experience within events, corporate hospitality or travel-led programmes
- Proven experience delivering complex, multi-day and/or multi-location events
- Demonstrated people management and leadership capability
- Strong understanding of event logistics, supplier management and live delivery
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and costs
- Calm, confident decision-maker under pressure
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
