Job Description

Provide expert knowledge and understanding of all the parts and intricacies of any stock assigned to their designated area, being a point of contact for specialist advice.

Take overall responsibility for the day to day picking requirements of any stock item that falls within the assigned stock product groups, ensuring all items are picked accurately with all parts accounted for.

Assist with the safe and efficient storage of all new items that the section is assigned.

Responsibilities

Leadership: Lead the efficient and precise picking process for all items within your designated section, ensuring colleagues are efficient and proactive contribution to achieving departmental picking goals on a daily and weekly basis.

  • Efficient Picking: Ensure the safe and effective picking of items, proper bay placement and organisation.
  • Support and Collaboration: Assist with morning meetings in supervisor’s absence.
  • System Proficiency: Report missing/damaged items promptly.
  • Accuracy and Documentation: Verify correct loading based on documents.

Management: Provide accurate and timely reporting of any missing or damaged items related to a job, adhering to prescribed response time frames.

Initiate quarantine procedures for returned stock that does not meet satisfactory conditions.

Assurance: Play an active role in maintaining the quality and condition of the stock assigned in designated picking area, escalating any concerns to Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.

  • Efficiency: Work with teams to reduce quarantined stock, and enhance efficiency.

Management: Assist the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager in locating both new and existing stock within designated picking areas, enhancing the efficiency of day-to-day picking operations.

  • Team Support: Assist and guide team members as required, and provide mentoring and training to new team members to ensure their seamless integration.
