EC has an opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in event production to join our team. Reporting to a senior member of the department, this role is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of events.
Within this role, you will be the main client point of contact to manage production-led enquiries that encompass technical, scenic and other elements of event production. You will work with and be supported by our internal teams to take a project from initial enquiry right through to on-site delivery. You will support our Growth team in nurturing client and venue relationships by providing exceptional service that encourages repeat business. This is not a technical or scenic role, however you do need a confident understanding of production, event delivery and have a commercial mindset to steer a project and ensure our clients’ success.
You will thrive here if:
- You have relevant experience in the events industry, ideally with a production background.
- You’re cool, calm and collected. Sometimes this role requires complex stakeholder management, and you are never afraid to step in to bring a challenging conversation to a positive conclusion for all.
- You have either experience in event management or event production. You will need to be able to confidently talk to clients about their projects.
- You have good attention to detail and experience in event production. One of our values is #AlwaysExcellent, and you understand that detail matters in this world.
- You enjoy pitching for new business and enjoy the thrill of converting a new enquiry.
- You can confidently communicate with multiple stakeholders.
- You have experience with project financials and have an understanding of revenue, GP, and margins.
- You are happy to have targets around profit and conversion.
- You’re naturally confident and your approach to creative projects brings your client on a journey with you and the team.
- Sustainability matters to you. We’ve committed to our 2030 Pledge and we’ll expect you to come on that journey with us.
Responsibilities:
- Client management & event delivery: Taking a lead in clients’ requirements, understanding and providing realistic solutions.
- Handling new enquiries, pulling together quotations and proposals for small to medium-sized events for both existing clients and new business opportunities.
- Attending internal pipeline meetings and proactively taking an interest in our sales pipeline and how we’re tracking against our revenue targets.
- Seeking opportunities to upsell and create value for our clients, not only from a Client Services perspective, but also understanding how you could incorporate other elements of our offering, like technical, scenic, florals and content.
- Taking a continued view of your own pipeline of events from quote through to delivery, ensuring that our processes are followed and that there is collaboration with the right teams at the right times.
- Briefing and collaborating with our technical, scenic, floral, creative, content and other internal teams on project requirements.
- Producing accurate floor plans in Vectorworks and ensuring they are up to date and filed correctly.
- Creating accurate schedules and collaborating with our Event Operations, Logistics and Crewing teams to ensure that your schedules are accurate.
- Delivering your events on budget and to schedule. Supporting other members of the team with projects as required.
Commercial:
- Ensure our budgets are competitive and commercially sound – offering excellent value to our clients, whilst meeting internal targets.
- Responsible for reconciliation on projects, ensuring costs are allocated in R2 and that any additional charges to the client are communicated in a timely manner to the relevant internal stakeholders.
Process & Governance:
- Responsible for the generation and management of Event Safety Plans, RAMS, plans, build schedules and project packs.
- Ensure that in carrying out all day-to-day responsibilities, our policies and procedures are observed.
