This role will either be based in Liverpool or Manchester office with a requirement of a minimum of 1 day in office per week.
Job Purpose
This role supports an experienced Financial Adviser specialising in offshore bonds, trusts, family investment structures and inheritance tax (IHT) planning alongside ISAs, SIPPs. It offers increasing involvement in client-facing activities including direct communication with clients and attendance at meetings. The position involves preparing high quality suitability reports and delivering comprehensive technical research across a wide range of financial products and planning strategies. Working closely with experienced professionals, the role requires a strong understanding of client needs and desired outcomes, ensuring that all advice is tailored, compliant and aligned with best practices.
You will play a key part in ensuring that advice is prepared efficiently and to the highest standard, while actively helping to mitigate risk and support the achievement of business objectives. Responsibilities also include supporting client meetings, presenting cashflow analysis where appropriate and assisting with responses to complex technical queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare suitability reports across a wide range of advice types, financial products, and investment solutions
- Carry out any necessary technical research
- Ensure client records contain sufficient Know Your Client information to demonstrate suitability of our advice, and that they are kept accurate and up to date at all times
- Work with the Financial Planner to ensure the correct client outcome is achieved
- Attend client meetings to support the Financial Planner in the delivery of cashflow modelling, as required
- Manage own workload to meet personal targets
- Communicate effectively with the Financial Planners to manage expected delivery dates
- Responsible for managing process, tasks and complying with FCA guidelines
- Maintain core systems ensuring that all documents are uploaded to the back-office system to support the advice
- Identify and report any risks, breaches, or errors through ensuring risks are logged through to mitigating actions and controls
- Proactively enhance industry and Company knowledge, through external and internal sources and maintaining an accurate CPD log
- Participate in local projects to support the overall Financial Planning Team, as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in paraplanning, supported by strong technical knowledge in trusts, offshore bonds, IHT planning, ISAs, SIPPs, Pensions, Family Investments
- Proven track record of producing high-quality written financial advice
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Effective stakeholder management and the ability to positively influence outcomes
- Strong literacy, numeracy and analytical capabilities
- Experience with dealing directly with clients would be ideal
Professional Qualifications and Education
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS)
- A desire to develop further and to undertake relevant examinations and working towards Chartered status
