Job Description

What will you be doing?

The role is suited to an experienced third-line infrastructure generalist who can work across servers, identity, certificates, networking, cloud, virtualisation, security remediation, vendor coordination and operational governance.

The team supports Evelyn Partners core platforms while also contributing to strategic and regulatory-driven programmes, including legacy platform remediation, security vulnerability treatment, infrastructure upgrades, mergers and acquisitions/integration activity, disaster recovery readiness, service transition into BAU, and the provision of detailed technical evidence for security, regulatory and compliance audits.

  • As an Infrastructure Engineer, your responsibilities will include among others:
  • Provide third-line technical support across infrastructure services, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, certificates, virtualisation, storage, networking, firewalls, Azure services and related operational tooling.
  • Support infrastructure delivery for projects, service transitions, migrations, decommissioning activity and integration work, providing practical engineering input and challenge where required.
  • Take ownership of assigned remediation and operational tasks, from investigation and planning through to implementation, validation and handover.
  • Assess technical impact, risk and dependencies for infrastructure changes, prepare change records and represent changes at CAB or equivalent governance forums.
  • Support internal and external security, compliance and audit activity by providing accurate technical evidence, remediation plans, asset/control information, treatment updates and clear explanations for frameworks and reviews such as ISO/IEC 27001, SWIFT, NIST-aligned assessments and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Respond to audit evidence requests by gathering and validating infrastructure data, including asset inventories, operating system and patch status, access controls, authentication arrangements, backup and recovery controls, vulnerability remediation status, documented operating procedures, change evidence and supplier/service information.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should

  • Demonstrable experience working as a third-line Infrastructure Engineer or equivalent in a complex, regulated or enterprise environment.
  • Broad Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, certificate services, authentication, file services and server administration.
  • Experience supporting cloud and hybrid infrastructure, preferably including Azure, AVD and infrastructure components that support data, application and end-user platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (ideally Solar Winds), networking (Meraki) and firewall (Palo Alto) concepts.
  • Experience supporting security remediation activity, vulnerability management, legacy technology remediation, TLS/certificate changes and audit evidence gathering for internal and external reviews.
  • Experience working with CAB/change management processes, including impact assessment, rollback planning, testing evidence and stakeholder communication.

Desired

  • Familiarity with audit and control expectations associated with ISO/IEC 27001, NIST-aligned cyber maturity assessments, SWIFT customer security controls and Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus would be beneficial.
  • Financial services or other regulated industry experience.
  • Experience with Service Now or similar ITSM tooling.
  • Experience with Tenable, Defender, Vulcan, One Trust or equivalent vulnerability/risk tooling, including using tool outputs as part of compliance evidence or remediation tracking.
  • Exposure to M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform including Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI
  • Industry-recognised infrastructure (AZ-800/801), cloud (AZ-900, AZ-104), networking (Cisco), security (SC-900) or other Microsoft certifications would be beneficial.
