Job Description
What will you be doing? We’re seeking a talented Manager to join our Corporate Actions team in Glasgow, which is responsible for performing managerial duties associated with Corporate Action functions and Evelyn Partners core values, behaviours and initiatives. You will ensure compliance with the full end to end role performed within the team taking into account all associated risks and deadlines. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high focused team with good exposure to senior stakeholders and insight into other teams within Operations.
As Manager - Corporate Actions, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Support the team with the daily processing and checking of all tasks associated with corporate actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Corporate Action practices ensuring market changes are adhered to and events processed according to regulations.
- Work with Technical Support, Settlement Operations and Investment Front Office representatives to implement IT system enhancements and procedural changes across the business, ensuring both daily and annual regulatory requirements are being adhered to.
- Ensure Corporate action deadlines are met through regular liaison with external Global Custodians and attend Client Service meetings with them to ensure the best service is being provided for our clients.
- Regularly interact with internal and external Audit to ensure the requirements for periodic compliance reviews are completed on time and with positive results.
- Provide technical advice to assist in resolving complex issues or queries which arise within the team and technical assistance to the change management program relevant to your area and actively manage the development and delivery of changes to operational and systems infrastructure.
- Appropriate Management Information Report, Key Performance Indicators, Key Risk Indicators (KRI) in place and updated by due dates.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Experience managing a team and supervising the work of more junior members of staff.
- Settlement operations experience gained within financial services is desirable.
- Practical knowledge of the regulatory environment relating to investment management and in particular settlement operations.
- Demonstrate ability to manage your team's daily tasks taking key risks into consideration.
- Strong Interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to communicate well both written and verbally to senior audiences.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Minimum basic level Word and intermediate level Excel.
- Desired: Corporate Action, including new issues experience preferred but not essential.
- Relevant Level 3 FCA recognized professional qualification (e.g. CISI Investment Operations Certificate) or appetite and ability to complete it within 18 months of appointment.
