We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our Investment Management team in Bristol. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-profile team where you will have substantial client contact and become the main point of contact for clients as you build trusted relationships. You will be responsible for providing personalised investment advice and portfolio management to the client, ensuring that investment portfolios are managed in line with the Company's investment philosophies and process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- To look after and support client needs
- To execute the annual Business plan in line with agreed individual targets
- To build new client relationships and develop existing client relationships through effective, ongoing service to help minimise attrition, and to deliver new instructions and referrals as a result of satisfied clients
- Structure and lead client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information provided is up to date, technically accurate and meets clients' needs
- To construct and maintain suitable portfolios in line with the clients' requirements, circumstances, tax situation and attitude to risk
- To review portfolios regularly and make portfolio changes consulting with colleagues, where appropriate
- To place deals accurately and in a timely fashion
- To work in partnership with Financial Planning (FP) colleagues to develop client relationships
- Ensure comprehensive client records are kept and that these are accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy
- To strive for no complaints and where they are received ensure that they are raised with the Client Resolution team in a timely fashion and assist in bringing them to a satisfactory resolution
- Ensure that knowledge and skills are maintained and developed in line with industry, regulatory and internal requirements by undertaking regular and appropriate CPD in order to reach their full potential (for the wider benefit of the Group)
Qualifications:
- Understanding of the financial services industry and investment market
- Have at least 1 year's experience of managing client investment portfolios and providing investment advice (ideally 2-3 years is desirable)
- Have confidence in building client relationships and speaking/meeting with clients
- Experience of remodelling newly acquired portfolios and bringing them into line with the investment policy
- Technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide-ranging investment management strategies and solutions
- Ability to work well in a pressurised environment and prioritise work
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and advanced numeracy and analytical skills
- Experience of leading pitches and winning new business
- Experience of operating within a risk management framework together with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business
- Hold a relevant Level 6 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing (APS). Relevant qualifications would be IAD & CWM or IMFC and CFA.
