We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Planning team in Birmingham. The team is responsible for building & developing trusted relationships with current and potential clients. To be responsible for delivering financial planning and wealth management advice. To work within the context of an agreed business plan. All advice given to clients must be suitable, tailored and personalised to the client and in line with advice and control policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Looking after and supporting client needs
  • Planning, implementing and executing the annual business plan in line with agreed individual expectations
  • Building new client relationships and maintaining and developing existing client relationships through effective ongoing service to help minimise attrition, and to deliver new instructions and referrals as a result of satisfied clients
  • Structuring and leading client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information and advice provided is up to date, technically accurate and meets clients’ needs
  • Ensuring clients have the right advice to achieve their financial objectives, while understanding and considering the impact of factors such as retirement planning, inheritance, and tax efficiency for individual clients
  • Ensuring client reviews are undertaken at least annually in line with clients’ changing risk attitudes and strategic requirements
  • Working in partnership with Investment Management (IM) and Professional Services (PS) colleagues to develop client relationships
  • Building and maintaining COIs to initiate and nurture close relationships with professional advisers
  • Maintaining the New Business Pipeline (NBP) and ensuring all values and dates are up to date
  • Ensuring comprehensive client records are kept and that these are accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy
  • Striving for no complaints and where they are received ensure that they are raised with the Client Resolution team in a timely fashion and assist in bringing them to a satisfactory resolution
  • Ensuring that knowledge and skills are maintained and developed in line with industry, regulatory and internal requirements by undertaking regular and appropriate CPD in order to reach their full potential (for the wider benefit of the Group)

Qualifications:

  • Have the proven ability to deal with new and existing clients on a fee basis
  • Have the ability to understand and communicate advice practices and processes clearly and effectively
  • Analyse client information and highlight requirements to make suitable recommendations
  • Possess the technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide ranging holistic financial planning strategies & solutions
  • Have a strong ethic of client and customer service and work well under pressure / prioritise work
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Extensive experience of operating within a risk management framework together with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business

Professional Qualifications and Education:

  • Holds a relevant level 4 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing, Chartered Status preferred
