Job Description

What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Planning team in Bristol. As part of a large, highly successful FP team, you will have all of the support and resources to really accelerate your career, plus work with some of the largest clients. If you are able to generate new business and are ambitious to grow, then we would love to speak to you.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and developing trusted relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Delivering financial planning and wealth management advice.
  • Working within the context of an agreed business plan.
  • Ensuring all advice given to clients is suitable, tailored, and personalised to the client and in line with advice and control policies.
  • Looking after and supporting client needs.
  • Executing the annual Business Plan in line with agreed individual targets.
  • Building new client relationships and maintaining and developing existing client relationships through effective ongoing service to help minimise attrition.
  • Structuring and leading client meetings in a professional manner, ensuring all information and advice provided is up to date, technically accurate, and meets clients’ needs.
  • Ensuring clients have the right advice to achieve their financial objectives while understanding and considering the impact of factors such as retirement planning, inheritance, and tax efficiency.
  • Conducting client reviews at least annually in line with clients’ changing risk attitudes and strategic requirements.
  • Working in partnership with Investment Management (IM) and Professional Services (PS) colleagues to develop client relationships.
  • Building and maintaining COIs to initiate and nurture close relationships with professional advisers.
  • Maintaining the New Business Pipeline (NBP) and ensuring all values and dates are up to date.
  • Ensuring comprehensive client records are kept accurate and up to date at all times and in line with Group policy.
  • Striving for no complaints and ensuring that any received are raised with the Client Resolution team in a timely fashion.
  • Maintaining and developing knowledge and skills in line with industry, regulatory, and internal requirements by undertaking regular and appropriate CPD.

Qualifications Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have the proven ability to deal with new and existing clients on a fee basis.
  • Understand and communicate advice practices and processes clearly and effectively.
  • Analyse client information and highlight requirements to make suitable recommendations.
  • Possess technical/product knowledge and effective communication of wide-ranging holistic financial planning strategies and solutions.
  • Exhibit a strong ethic of client service.
  • Work under pressure and prioritise work effectively.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have experience operating within a risk management framework with a thorough understanding of the risks and threats pertaining to a private client business.

Professional Qualifications and Education

Holds a relevant level 4 qualification or above (aspiring for Level 7) and maintains an up-to-date Statement of Professional Standing.
