Develop and deliver educational programmes for Birmingham Community Healthcare to support the Children and Families and staff within paediatric specialist nursing services on tissue viability related issues in a variety of formats, including e-learning and competency-based assessments.

Promote the achievement of competencies in nurses involved in wound care & prevention, to facilitate the delivery of safe and appropriate care.

Act as a role model to the nursing staff in all aspects of wound care.

Provide clinical support and supervision to specialist nursing colleagues and access regular supervision from the specialist tissue viability team.

Support Trust management in Tissue Viability-related issues, attending meetings, participating in initiatives and providing a specialist voice & opinion.

Actively support innovations and improvements in practice related to Tissue Viability.

Establish and maintain professional networking relationships with all relevant personnel including other professional agencies and organizations.

Work in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.

Communicate highly sensitive, condition-related information to patients and relatives with empathy and reassurance.

Assist with the production of specialist protocols, guidelines, standards & procedures for Tissue Viability related issues and review and update in line with relevant research.

Develop and empower all members of the team to perform to high standards and develop skills and confidence.

Capture best practice and disseminate this to staff to be able to deliver safe, high-quality care by regular engagement with the Trusts Tissue Viability Team.

Assist in the pressure ulcer prevention agenda and National Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUINS).
