The successful candidate will provide professional support to the Children’s Community Nursing service and Rapid Response Teams. The Palliative Care Service works alongside other specialist nursing services, including Children’s Complex Care and Special School Nursing teams. As part of the palliative care nursing team you will participate in the on‑call service to provide end‑of‑life care to the children and young people requiring it. If you have a passion for ensuring that CYP and their families are well supported at home during the palliative and terminal phase of their care and have the necessary knowledge and skills as identified in the person specification, we would be very interested in receiving an application from you.
Responsibilities
- Participate in on‑call services to provide end‑of‑life care to the children and young people at home.
- Support families to meet all aspects of social, emotional, practical and nursing needs.
- Collaborate with Children’s Complex Care and Special School Nursing teams within the Palliative Care Service.
- Enhance leadership and management skills within a supportive and experienced team.
Qualifications
- Registered Children’s Nurse or Adult Nurse with experience caring for children with life‑threatening or limiting conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a team player with initiative to work autonomously and effectively.
- Passion for palliative care and ability to support CYP and families at home during the terminal phase of their care.
