Job Summary
This post is for a Band 4 Nurse Associate. Newly qualified nurse associates are welcomed and supported with induction, development and career progression opportunities.
Main Duties of the Job
The role delivers high quality, holistic, compassionate and fundamental patient and client care as part of the nursing team under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Work independently in people\’s own homes and clinic settings delivering care planned and evaluated by Registered Nurses.
- Make decisions and act independently in a fast‑paced, unpredictable community nursing service.
- Maintain confident decision‑making, meet service demand and drive to sites as required.
Service Hours
8 am – 6 pm, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities
Provide holistic, person‑centred care for people of all ages across community settings. Work independently under Registered Nurse leadership and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Seek advice and escalation as appropriate, and support service development.
- Deliver care for households and clinics.
- Collaborate with the multi‑professional team.
- Support progression to registered nursing via apprenticeship scheme.
Person Specification – Essential
- Understanding of the Nursing Associate role and how it contributes to service development.
- Acts in line with NMC professional standards (The Code).
- Understands when to seek advice, escalation and revalidation requirements.
- Knowledge of procedures and treatment plans.
- Experience working in teams under appropriate supervision.
- Ability to evaluate own strengths and seek advice.
- Experience providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register or qualifying within 2 months.
- Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification.
- GCSE Grade A–C in Maths & English or equivalent.
Experience
- Teamwork experience within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with complex sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Registered Nursing Associate on NMC register (or qualifying within 2 months).
- Nursing Associate foundation degree.
- GCSE Maths & English A–C or equivalent.
