Job Summary

To provide high quality professional administrative support to the Community Nursing Teams. To support the Team Leaders and community nursing teams to implement efficient office systems and procedures. To ensure high standards of customer service are met at all times when liaising with staff, external organisations, patients and their relatives. Although the post holder will mainly be based at Meadway community nursing team, you could be asked to travel or support any of our community nursing teams within the East locality.

Main duties

We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to provide high quality professional administrative support to the Community Nursing teams. The successful post holder will be required to work from various teams in that locality to provide cover as required, so the candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility.

Job Description

Job responsibilities: To provide a comprehensive administrative support to the community nursing team including typing of letters, minutes of meetings and other documentation.

Please note as part of the interview process, all interviewees will be required to complete a Maths & English test.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Qualifications / training: GCSE Maths Grade C or above or equivalent/or equivalent experience; NVQ Level 3 or Diploma
  • Experience: Able to work to deadlines; Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Previous experience of administration and clerical work
  • Skills/knowledge: Ability to communicate to a high level with a wide range of people; Ability to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with service users who may be distressed, emotional and/or verbally aggressive; Proven Customer Care skills; Ability to handle people in a courteous and sensitive manner, taking into account individual needs; Able to multitask, prioritise workload & use own initiative and good time management skills; Understanding & commitment to equal opportunities; High level written communication skills; Data input skills
  • Personal qualities: Ability to work effectively as a team member; Ability to make a positive contribution to effective team work; Reliable and punctual showing good time management skills; Demonstrates ability to use initiative and take ownership; Willing to undertake a range of tasks and activities; Shows flexibility and initiative in planning workload

Desirable

  • Knowledge of PAS; Copy Typing skills; ECDL or equivalent IT qualification
  • Ability to set up and maintain filing systems
