Evapco is seeking applicants for a full-time Pressure Boundary Welder/Certified Welder position on the Second Shift and Weekend Shift at our Taneytown, Maryland location. The Certified Pressure Boundary Welder will work under general supervision and perform tube, header, and pipe connection welds/assembly MIG and TIG welding. This role requires precision, attention to detail and the ability to follow safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welds in stainless steel, according to drawings and specifications.
- Inspect welds to ensure quality and company standards.
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret drawings and shop instructions via SOP’s.
- Work with other welders to complete production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all plant safety rules.
Qualifications
- Pass a two inch schedule 80 pipe test in accordance with ASME Section IX, for both MIG and TIG, in all positions.
- Maintain a weld leak rate in accordance with SOP-44-CW.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of shop safety procedures and the use of PPE.
Recommended Skills and Experiences
- High School diploma or GED.
- Shop math, add, subtract, divide, multiply in whole numbers and fractions.
- Read a tape measure to within 1/16 inch.
- General knowledge of hand tools powered and non-powered.
- Be able to identify quality welds and make repairs if necessary.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment
- Continuous standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
- Lifting of 50 lbs or less
- Wear PPE when required – Manufacturing Areas
- Night Shift, Monday-Thursday, 4pm-2:30am
