Senior Full Stack Elixir Engineer (Contract to Permanent)
Hybrid (UK preferred, 1 day/week London) | Start ASAP
A well-funded early-stage tech company is looking for a hands-on Elixir engineer to join a small, high-performing team on an initial contract.
You’ll help shape a fast-evolving platform that combines Elixir, Phoenix, and modern AI integrations — working directly on core systems and backend architecture. If you like building from the ground up, enjoy autonomy, and want to work in an environment that values clean, reliable code over process, this will suit you.
The Role
- Build and scale backend services using Elixir/Phoenix
- Design APIs and manage PostgreSQL data structures
- Integrate AI and data pipelines into core platform features
- Contribute across the stack (React/TypeScript experience a plus)
- Work closely with a small engineering team — fast pace, minimal red tape
- Option to go permanent after the initial period
What We’re After
- Extensive Experience with Elixir in production
- Solid knowledge of OTP, PostgreSQL, and system design
- Strong problem-solving skills, delivery mindset, and startup-ready attitude
- Ideally UK-based (able to meet in London weekly)
Nice to have: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, or AI-assisted dev tools (Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
