Seymour Transport is seeking dedicated HGV C+E Drivers to join our team.
We are currently recruiting for general haulage and construction haulage departments.
As a reputable, family‑run organisation and a leader in the construction haulage sector, we pride ourselves on providing excellent service and fostering a positive work environment for all employees.
Home base can be at any of the following locations: Caldicot, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Lichfield or Barnsley.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) according to the C+E license requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to various destinations, adhering to the schedule and route plans.
- Conduct pre‑use and post‑use inspections of the vehicle to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues in accordance with DVSA standards.
- Load and unload freight in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, logbooks, and other relevant documentation (most of which will be captured electronically).
- Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and customers to provide updates on delivery status.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Represent Seymour Transport professionally, always demonstrating excellent customer service and keeping trucks in a clean and professional state.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid HGV C+E license.
- Ability to work with newly qualified drivers.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including load security and potential tail‑lift requirements.
- Training in MOL or Pump‑out available.
