We are looking for an HGV Class 1 driver to join our company to carry out night trunking duties. Drivers will be expected to attend our Bideford site to carry out a night trunk in an artic vehicle to the Palletforce hub at Burton upon Trent, unload, reload and return to base.

Responsibilities and Duties for Class 1 driver (Nights):

  • Ensure the most direct truck friendly route is taken.
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks.
  • Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws.
  • Meet our connection times for loading and unloading at the pallet hub.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Report any issues effectively and promptly to management.
  • Be able to work to a productive nature.

Qualifications and Skills for Class 1 driver (Nights):

  • Full driving licence with C+E vocation.
  • In date driver CPC and digital tachograph.
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Counterbalance forklift experience beneficial but not essential.
  • LST experience beneficial but not essential.
