We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our Bulk haulage department. We will be working with a key customer providing internal site movements in a large clay works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The candidate will be working on a shift pattern and will be trained to self-load using loading shovels and other customer equipment. The shift pattern will be 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off of 12-hour shifts. Applicants will be working a night shift.

Key Skill Requirements for Driver:

  • Act in a professional and friendly manner
  • Ensure the most direct truck-friendly route is taken
  • Ensure the vehicle is safe and fit to be on the road by carrying out adequate daily checks
  • Work within the tachograph and working time directive laws
  • Ensure all apps are kept up to date
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Report any issues effectively and promptly to management
  • Be able to work to a productive nature
  • Be willing to drive other machinery

Qualifications and Skills for Driver:

  • Full driving licence
  • In date driver CPC and digital tachograph
  • Sound geographical knowledge of the UK and be able to use a road atlas
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness
  • Presentable, good attitude and polite
  • Tipper experience of benefit but not essential
  • Loader shovel driving of benefit but not essential
