Vehicle Technician Apprentice in Shrewsbury

Evans Halshaw Shrewsbury BYD is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician Apprentice with a start date in September 2026. As a Vehicle Technician Apprentice, you’ll combine hands-on experience in our dealerships with structured training and the support of an experienced mentor. You’ll work towards achieving an IMI Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance, setting you up to become a fully qualified Vehicle Technician.

You don’t need previous experience in the automotive industry to apply. We don’t expect you to know everything already; that’s what the apprenticeship is for. If you’re curious, motivated, and willing to learn, we’ll give you the training, support, and mentoring you need to succeed and build a long-term career as a Vehicle Technician.

What will you be doing every day as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician?

• Learning to service vehicles, checking and maintaining them following clear instructions
• Learning to diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle parts and components
• Carry out vehicle checks and inspections
• Produce time estimates for repairs and maintenance to vehicles
• Maintain repair and service records on the in-house computer system and for customers

What do we look for in an Apprentice Technician / Mechanic?

• A keen eye for detail
• A grade C or Grade 4 in English, Maths, and Science
