The predicted salary is between 30000 - 30000 £ per year.
£30,000 basic plus bonus and pension, life assurance, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals and aftersales services.
Working closely with Divisional Stock Managers, the Used Car Buyer plays a vital role in supporting Evans Halshaw's used car performance contributing to the buying, pricing and allocation of used vehicles across the division to ensure our dealerships are stocked with competitive, desirable and profitable vehicles.
It is an exciting time to join the team as we launch our Sell Your Car Home Collection service. We are looking for a confident, proactive buyer who can help make this new programme a success, while supporting the wider purchasing and pricing strategy.
Your Journey as Used Car Buyer:
- Support vehicle buying and underwriting across the business, including sourcing stock, conducting appraisals, negotiating valuations, providing pricing and part-exchange support, and contributing to the Sell Your Car Home Collection service.
- Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers, private sellers and logistics partners. Managing communication throughout the purchase journey to ensure a smooth and professional customer experience, escalating unresolved issues where required to maintain service standards.
- Monitor market and competitor trends, support daily and weekly pricing reviews using central tools, make ad hoc pricing adjustments where required, and allocate centrally purchased vehicles to the most appropriate stores based on demand and sales performance.
- Ensure all purchase documentation is completed accurately and on time, track vehicles through logistics, and support the smooth flow of vehicles into stock and preparation at dealerships.
- Produce regular and ad hoc buying, pricing, and performance reports, share insights on trends and supplier performance, and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues, inefficiencies, and best practice across the division.
- Flexible to support occasional evening and weekend contact with sellers or pricing activity when required. Occasional travel may also be needed between stores, suppliers or collection locations.
Do you have what it takes to be a Lithia UK colleague?
- Previous experience as a Used Vehicle Buyer or in motor trade sales is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and confidence working with data and spreadsheets are desirable.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to build rapport with customers and suppliers are desirable.
- Full training will be provided.
