Evans Halshaw, MG Grantham is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician Apprentice with a start date in September 2026. The apprentice salary includes pension, life assurance, and 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), along with exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals, and aftersales services.

As a Vehicle Technician Apprentice, you’ll combine hands-on experience in our dealerships with structured training and the support of an experienced mentor. You’ll work towards achieving an IMI Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Servicing and Maintenance, setting you up to become a fully qualified Vehicle Technician. You don’t need previous experience in the automotive industry to apply. If you’re curious, motivated, and willing to learn, we’ll provide the training, support, and mentoring you need to succeed.
What will you be doing every day as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician?
- Learning to service vehicles, checking and maintaining them following clear instructions
- Learning to diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle parts and components
- Carrying out vehicle checks and inspections
- Producing time estimates for repairs and maintenance to vehicles
- Maintaining repair and service records on the in-house computer system and for customers
