Responsibilities:
- Prepare special meals or substitutes.
- Adjust oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures.
- Thaw frozen foods in the refrigerator by removing them from cold storage.
- Check appropriate portions and presentation; manage food records.
- Monitor quality and quantity of prepared foods.
- Provide support during busy periods.
- Inform the chef of leftover items to use for the daily specials.
- Notify service staff of special or unavailable menu items.
- Ensure food quality; prepare and plate foods according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist.
- Prepare cold foods as required.
- Support recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching staff; be a role model for management.
- Comply with all corporate and safety and security policies and procedures.
- Report any readiness-to-serve checks, accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to the manager.
- Complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain neat and professional uniforms and personal appearance.
- Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Forecast and resolve guest service needs with clear and professional communication.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support the team to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
- Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
- Stand for long periods or walk; bend, twist, push, pull, and reach overhead or below the knee as required.
- Move, lift, carry, push, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
