SENIOR / GEO-ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER sought at an Industry leading, Large Geo-Environmental Consultancy. This fantastic opportunity is based in Colchester.
Overview
Our client is part of a large engineering and technology company that operates worldwide. They are an industry leader within the geosciences sector, and pride themselves on solving complex geotechnical challenges, using robust, practical solutions for development projects, whatever the size or scale.
As a Senior / Geo-environmental Engineer based out of their office in Colchester, you will be joining a company who understand that the work-life balance is essential to great work and performance, and who also prioritise Learning and Development to ensure you are always up to date with the latest thinking and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to Brownfield Land Associate
- Management of relationships with key clients and contacts across the business including client liaison.
- Understanding of geotechnical and brownfield risks and understand the integration of geotechnical solutions on projects.
- Tendering / Pricing
- Financial management
- Plan, manage and undertake ground investigations and monitoring
- Prepare Phase 1, 2 and 3 risk assessment reports
- Design, manage and validate remediation schemes
- Supervision and verification of remediation
- Regulator liaison
- Human Health and Controlled Waters GQRAs and Gas Risk Assessments
- Mentoring and training junior staff.
- Writing, checking and reviewing reports.
- Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies
Requirements
- BSc / MSc in Geology, Earth or Environmental Science.
- 2 – 7 years industry background in Brownfield Engineering
- Understanding of geotechnical/ground engineering.
- Knowledge of UK/EU standards.
- Track record in running site investigation works
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working as part of a team and engaging with senior management, clients, and regulators.
- Good understanding of brownfield engineering and contaminated land.
- Proven track record in design and development of ground investigation works.
- Excellent reporting skills
- Committed to a high standard of health and safety in regard to ground investigations
- Demonstrate an ability to understand complex problems and to conceive innovative solutions.
- Can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships, always aiming to exceed client expectations.
- Excellent time and organisational skills allowing completion of work to time and budget.
- Manage junior members to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
- Is committed to Continued Professional Development and remains up to date with current developments in the industry
