We seek a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager responsible for actively managing the day-to-day running and operational procedures/performance of this depot with a hands-on approach. Leading and motivating a team in the pursuit of demanding cost and service targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and managing transport operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and achieve business needs.
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring transport policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with transport regulations and safety standards, maintaining accurate records of transport activities and preparing reports.
- Supporting new initiatives and taking an active part in projects.
- Managing a diverse workforce including sub-contractors, self-employed drivers, and PAYE staff.
Requirements:
- Evident line management experience in a pallet services environment and people management.
- Experience of running a multi-shift logistics operation from operations to warehouse to customer service.
- Proven record of delivering great service to customers and managing ongoing customer relationships.
- CPC in road transport management.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations, logistics, and working with carrier insurance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in TMS and WHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Hours: 45 hours per week including a fortnightly Saturday AM shift.
Salary: Up to £45k per annum depending on experience.
