Our drivers are a vital part of EV Cargo. As a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products to our customers safely and efficiently, prioritising your safety and well-being on the road.
THE SALARY:
LOCATION: This role is based at our site in Newbury.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform various HGV driving duties, including daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety, and complying with security and standing procedures.
- Manage handheld terminals and record accurate delivery information.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and submit it to the Transport Office.
- Report any delivery issues promptly to the Transport Office.
- Provide professional driving services that meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
- Occasionally drive 3.5t vehicles during peak periods.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Qualifications: Class 1 Driving Licence.
- Experience: Previous experience is essential. Refrigeration and multi-drop experience are advantageous. Completion of a CPC Training Course and strong geographical and logistical knowledge are required.
- Communication: Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Influence & Persuasion: Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Planning & Organisation: Flexibility in start and finish times, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- People & Self Development: Aiming for career progression within a growing company. Self-motivation, self-management, and teamwork skills are essential. A friendly, helpful attitude and a strong work ethic are desirable.
