Responsibilities
- Use of a handheld terminal to record accurate information.
- Occasionally driving class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Drive Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
- Inform the transport office of any problems in good time (e.g., if you’re running late).
- Assess fitness to drive, considering alcohol intake, daily rest, and medications that could affect ability to drive.
- Arrive at work on time.
- Maintain health and safety standards and drive in a safe manner, following all road rules.
- Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed and returned to the transport office.
- Deliver goods to various locations.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Qualifications: Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC, Digital Tacho Card. HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience.
- Experience: Previous experience is essential. Refrigeration and multi-drop experience would be beneficial. Will have completed a CPC Training Course and have strong geographical and logistical knowledge.
- Communication: You will have good communication skills, spoken and written.
- Influence & Persuasion: Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers.
- Planning & Organisation: You will be adaptable in your start and finish times and able to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
