THE ROLE

Our Operations Managers oversee daily business operations, optimises processes, manages resources, and ensures organisational efficiency and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervising and managing employees across multiple departments, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance productivity and team development.
  • Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Resource allocation and workflow optimisation, ensuring that materials, budgets, and personnel are used effectively to meet organisational goals.
  • Strategic planning and performance monitoring, including setting goals, evaluating operational performance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration, liaising with internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to align operations with company objectives.
  • Financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to support profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Quality assurance and customer service enhancement, implementing best practices to maintain high standards and improve client satisfaction.
  • Compliance and risk management, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • CPC in road transport management and IOSSH desirable.
  • Proven experience as an Operations and Transport Manager or in a similar role.
  • Experience in people management and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations, logistics, and working with carrier insurance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in TMS and WHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
