THE ROLE

Our drivers are one of the most important roles within Palletforce Logistics, and as a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you will have the important role of delivering products to our customers whilst being safe and taking care of yourself on the road.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use of a handheld terminal to record accurate information;
  • Occasionally driving class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods;
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle;
  • Driving Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly;
  • Ensure you do your daily vehicle checks to make sure your vehicle is roadworthy and safe to use;
  • Ensure you inform the transport office of any problems in good time i.e. if you’re running late;
  • Fit to drive; considering alcohol intake, daily rest, prescribed/over the counter medication that could affect your ability to drive;
  • To ensure you arrive at your job on time;
  • Excellent customer service;
  • Maintain health and safety standards;
  • Operating in a safe way, following all road rules;
  • Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed and returned to the transport office;
  • Delivering goods to various locations.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Qualifications. Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC, Digital Tacho Card. HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience.
  • Experience. Previous experience is essential. Refrigeration and multi drop experience would be beneficial. Will have completed a CPC Training Course and have a strong geographical and logistical knowledge.
  • Communication. You will have good communication skills, spoken and written.
  • Influence & Persuasion. Build good working relationships with work colleagues and our customers.
  • Planning & Organisation. You will be adaptable in your start and finish times and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
