Class 1 Driver – Full Time (St Leonards-on-Sea)

The Role

As a fully qualified Class 1 Driver, you will deliver products to our customers while ensuring the safety of yourself and the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use a handheld terminal to record accurate information.
  • Occasionally drive Class 2 and 3.5t vehicles during peak periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Drive Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks to confirm roadworthiness.
  • Inform the transport office of any problems in a timely manner.
  • Be fit to drive, considering alcohol intake, rest periods, and medication.
  • Arrive at jobs on time.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Follow all road rules.
  • Ensure all paperwork is correct, completed, and returned.
  • Deliver goods to various locations.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualifications: Class 1 Driving Licence (C+E), Valid CPC, Digital Tacho Card; HGV/LGC Class licence with 12 months experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience essential; refrigeration and multi-drop experience beneficial. Completed CPC Training Course.
  • Communication: Good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Influence & Persuasion: Build good relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Planning & Organisation: Adaptable start and finish times, prioritise workloads, meet tight deadlines.
  • People & Self Development: Autonomous and team work, self-motivated, friendly, helpful, strong work ethic.
