We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of our transport department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of a fleet of approximately 24 vehicles, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, and supporting the team to deliver excellent transport services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of fleet maintenance for approximately 24 vehicles in line with operator licence obligations.
  • Supervise the activities of staff in relation to transport operations, including dispatching, tracking, and debriefing.
  • Ensure that staff comply with company policies, safety regulations, and government legislation.
  • Support the coaching, training, and performance management of drivers to maintain high operational standards.
  • Contribute to the planning, development, and organisation of the transport department.
  • Liaise with local agency providers when required.
  • Ensure all vehicles and drivers adhere to relevant health, safety, and road traffic legislation.
  • Oversee route planning and vehicle loading, working with the Transport Planning team to identify and implement improvements.
  • Ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) targets are met and that all deliveries align with customer requirements.
  • Support the development and communication of transport policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a logistics or transport environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital Tachograph systems.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and stock management software.
  • Previous experience with telematics systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills with the ability to supervise and support teams.
