Our client is working with a third party to assess their current estate in order to develop a strategic plan for modernising their platforms and cloud adoption approach. They are looking for an Infrastructure focused Hybrid Cloud Consultant / Cloud Engineer with experience at architectural level to work with their technical teams and this partner to ensure that the assessment, recommendations, and proposed roadmap are fully aligned with their operational needs and longer-term initiatives.
As part of your remit you will:
- Act as a technical representative for our client with the third-party partner and ensure that their recommendations are technically sound, feasible, and aligned with our client's strategy.
- Provide our client with an informed, independent oversight of architectural design and hybrid cloud direction.
- Support the development of a modern, scalable, secure hybrid cloud vision and roadmap.
- Support uplift in cloud capabilities so that internal teams can confidently adopt, operate and evolve hybrid cloud foundations.
Some of the Key skills and experience required:
- Extensive hands-on experience in hybrid cloud engineering or architecture roles.
- Azure and AWS Certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent).
- Evidence of having worked on large-scale cloud transformation programmes, ideally in environments with complex legacy estates.
- Expertise in designing and evaluating hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, including integration of on-premises, IaaS, PaaS, and cloud native services.
- Sound knowledge of Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
- Experience with hybrid network design including ExpressRoute, VPN, private endpoints, and network architectures, including micro-segmentation.
- Experience of stretching Data Centres to the Cloud and hybrid DNS.
- Strong knowledge of identity and access management (RBAC/ABAC), federated identity, MFA, PAM, conditional access, and privilege design.
- Experience of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep) and experience in designing and reviewing CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment patterns, automation workflows, and hybrid operational tooling.
