Product Manager - Search & Discovery - eCommerce - AI - Outside IR35
Location: London - three days per week onsite
Contract: Six months initially
IR35 status: Outside IR35
This is a product strategy and design leadership role rather than a traditional delivery-focused position. You will own how customers find, explore and engage with products across digital and physical touchpoints.
Key responsibilities:
- Define the product vision and roadmap for search and discovery
- Improve search relevance, navigation, filtering and recommendations
- Lead the development of taxonomy and information architecture
- Improve product metadata and merchandising logic
- Use analytics, experimentation and customer behaviour to reduce friction and improve conversion
- Explore AI-driven search, personalisation and conversational interfaces
- Identify emerging technologies and translate them into scalable product capabilities
- Partner with Technology, Data, Experience Design, Retail and Commercial teams
- Build effective feedback loops across global and regional markets
- Establish clear measures of customer and commercial success
Required experience:
- Strong Product Management experience within digital commerce or omnichannel retail
- A proven background in search, navigation, taxonomy, filtering or recommendations
- Experience improving customer journeys and conversion through data and experimentation
- Knowledge of search technologies such as Elasticsearch
- Understanding of product metadata and information architecture
- Experience applying AI to search, discovery, recommendations or personalisation
- Strong stakeholder management across technical, commercial and senior leadership teams
- Ability to define strategy, prioritise roadmaps and communicate complex ideas clearly
- Experience working across global or multi-market environments
