I am currently partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed group seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Group Accountant to join their central finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wants exposure to group reporting, acquisitions, systems optimisation and strategic finance activity.

The Role

Reporting to the Group FP&A Manager, you will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, consolidation, compliance and process improvement across the group. You will be involved in:

  • Supporting the integration of new acquisitions including systems, policies and compliance
  • Group consolidation and monthly reporting packs
  • Preparation of financial statements for non-trading entities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close
  • Debt facilities management and covenant calculations
  • Audit preparation and corporation tax support
  • Loan note interest payments and HMRC returns
  • FRS 102 compliance across the group
  • Developing and strengthening internal controls
  • ESG financial data collection and KPI reporting
  • Acting as a system super-user and driving efficiencies across the finance platform

This role offers genuine breadth and visibility across a complex, multi-entity structure.

What We Are Looking For

  • Fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP and FRS 102
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive, adaptable and keen to improve processes
  • Private equity exposure would be advantageous but is not essential. Mindset and technical strength are key.
