Job Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Field Antenna Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in supporting and maintaining operational readiness of our network of LEO tracking antennas. In this position, you’ll work closely with our Site Management team and our global network of Vendors, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. What You’ll Do: The Antenna Field Engineer will be responsible for supporting operation, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of field-related trouble calls, and issues associated with earth station and satellite network systems. The position requires a system-level understanding of the principles of satellite RF communications including Ku-Band and Ka plus familiarity with the following equipment is desirable: LEO tracking antennas, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), transmitters, antennas, antenna controls, motors, resolvers, LNAs, encoders, 3-phase power, signal routing, fiber optics. The position also requires basic knowledge of network communications. The candidate will need the ability to read schematic, technical documents and wiring diagrams and create technical procedures. They will also require experience in using a ticketing system and documenting their work within.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Test, troubleshooting, commissioning and continuing support of Satellite Network Portals (SNP) build out and operation.
- Support of installation, commissioning, and integration with OneWeb Partners
- Knowledge of rack integration, cable fabrication, cable terminations and interconnect wiring diagrams
- Optimizing earth station antennas performing antenna patterns, G/T, and overall functionality
- Ability to configure and test IP based network equipment and peripherals.
Where You’ll Work: US, remote role because 70% of the time you will be traveling.
