Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Customer Solutions Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in testing and documenting customer-deployed configurations and solutions across various segments, including Enterprise, Maritime, Government, and Mobility. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and engage with clients to create test plans, author whitepapers documenting tested solutions, and provide expert guidance on complex customer use cases. In addition, you will contribute to building and maintaining a simulated end-user test environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and run targeted test campaigns aimed at replicating customer configurations and evaluate their performance and limitations.
- Document proven customer integrations and configurations into whitepapers to showcase the unmatched value of our connectivity services across all use cases.
- Support the construction of a comprehensive end-user test lab, encompassing routing, vCPEs, SDWAN capabilities, test equipment, firewalls, and traffic generators.
- Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the mobile customer lab vehicle and its equipment.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Customer Sales Engineering, Operations, Systems Engineering, etc.) to create standardized test templates for end customer setups across multiple segments.
- Assess, evaluate, and provide guidance on complex E2E customer architectures encompassing Metro Ethernet, SDWAN, SIP, Security, IPVPN, as well as enterprise applications to demonstrate the seamless integration of Eutelsat OneWeb's services.
- Present compelling overviews of use cases, technical functionality, interoperability, and performance to distribution partners or end customers through written documents, presentations, demos, whiteboard sessions, or other suitable formats.
Keys to Success:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a relevant industry (satellite communications, telco, ISP, …), working in a lab environment and maintaining lab equipment and facilities.
- Bachelor (essential) or Master’s (preferred) degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Excellent IP networking experience which includes the ability to configure switches, routers, problem solving and tracing root cause of connectivity issues.
- Experience with Windows, Linux and virtualized environments.
- Working ability to script in Python, Bash or similar languages.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, allowing you to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while adapting to new technologies and thriving in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
How You Will Stand Out:
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise telecoms products and services.
- Experience with satcom and systems performance variables and their optimization.
- Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 IP networks.
- Certification as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP-SP/CCIE-SP) or Juniper Network Certified Professional (JNCIP-SP/JCIE-SP), or equivalent.
- Good understanding of RF engineering, 4G/LTE standards, QoS.
- Experience with 4G/5G cellular networks (test, deployment or support).
