SAP MM / IM Data Analyst - 18-Month+ Contract Role (Outside IR35) - Exeter, UK - End Client. Start Date: September 2026 (client will wait for 1-month notice periods).
Our end client is running a major, multi-year programme moving Finance, Procurement and Operations onto a single SAP S/4HANA platform.
As part of the move, legacy Inventory Management, Material Master and Purchasing data needs to be gathered, cleaned and validated ready for migration.
We're looking for an SAP MM/ IM Data Analyst to own this data-gathering effort — working closely with site teams to pull together accurate Material Master, purchasing and spares data, load it into the migration templates, and check it's right before and after each load.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and consolidate Inventory Management, Material Master and Purchasing data from legacy systems, ready for migration to SAP S/4HANA.
- Work with Master Data Objects and complete data-load templates in Excel ahead of upload.
- Run mock loads and validation checks, confirming data is accurate and "fit for purpose" before and after each scheduled load.
- Own Material Master data quality across Inventory Management and Purchasing, including spare parts and labelling/bin data.
- Speak directly with site representatives and stakeholders to track down, verify and correct data — this is a people-facing role.
- Report progress and issues to the Workstream Lead and Business Process Owner, and contribute to weekly status updates.
- Support wider project activities in your area, such as testing and training.
Skills & Experience Needed
- 1–3 years' experience in an SAP MM/ Inventory Management or Purchasing data role (or a similar data migration / master data environment).
- Previous S/4HANA experience is not a must.
- Working knowledge of Master Data Objects and SAP Material Master data.
- Hands-on experience building and completing data-load templates, ideally including mock loads and validation checks.
- Strong Excel skills — comfortable manipulating, checking and cleaning large data sets.
- Understanding of purchasing and spare parts data, including labelling and bin location data.
- Confident communicator, able to talk to people across the business to track down and confirm information
- Well organised, able to work to a schedule and hit deadlines in a fast-moving project environment.
This is a chance to play a hands-on part in a major transformation programme — with direct visibility to senior stakeholders and real ownership over a critical piece of the data migration.
Additional Info
The role is on-site for 2 days per week in Exeter, with 1 day per week travel to other sites within an hour of Exeter + 2 days/week remote work.
The onsite work will increase to 4–5 days during peak project periods.
