The Role: We are looking for a Senior Operations Supervisor to oversee the production, blending, and distribution of bitumen products at our Thurrock facility. This role is crucial in ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. Due to the seasonal nature of the business, shift work (including early, day, and late shifts) will be required from April to September, along with 1 in 3 weekends. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all operations adhere to SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards, oversee driver loading/unloading, issue permits to work, and enforce PPE usage. Manage the blending process, monitor production, conduct routine equipment checks, and troubleshoot operational issues. Supervise and support a small team, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and high performance. Handle customer inquiries, resolve supply issues, and maintain positive relationships with tanker drivers and contractors. Coordinate machinery, materials, and maintenance schedules to ensure continuous production. Conduct sampling and testing of raw and finished materials to maintain product consistency and integrity. Requirements: Experience in operations, production, or process management, ideally within bitumen, chemicals, or a similar industry. Strong Operations background ideally with a Production or Process bias of at least 5 years or more. Leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams. Technical understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is an advantage. Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one). IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
