An exciting opportunity awaits you as Quality Engineer in our Rolling Stock team.

The Quality Engineer will be integral in assisting the UK & Continental Quality Manager in ensuring alignment with BS EN ISO9001 (QMS) and ECM requirements (regulation (EU) 2019/779). This is a permanent role based at our Temple Mills depot in Leyton. Hybrid working is available, with the expectation you attend site 4 days per week.

We’re looking for someone to:

  • Conduct internal audits in line with ISO 9001 and ECM legislation, and manage post-audit action plans.
  • Oversee non-conformance processes within the Rolling Stock domain, identifying issues, tracking actions, and reporting KPIs.
  • Monitor compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ECM requirements through inspections and process checks.
  • Support the implementation of quality assurance practices and provide training on ISO 9001 and ECM standards.
  • Engage with staff and managers to ensure procedures are followed and quality issues are addressed effectively.
  • Create management reports for periodic quality and safety reviews, and maintain traceability of audit documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage quality-related projects and systems (e.g. TMI App, Qualishare).

You’ll need:

  • Excellent knowledge of the railway industry, an engineering background, and experience leading internal audits against ISO9001.
  • Fluency in both English and French, written and spoken.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent experience) plus ISO9001 Lead Auditor specialisation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality management, continuous improvement, and autonomous execution of duties.
  • Advanced expertise in ISO9001, auditing, quality issue management, CAPA/root cause analysis, and problem‑solving tools (8D, 5 Whys).
  • Strong understanding of ECM requirements, the Process Approach, and the PDCA cycle.
  • Advanced relationship‑management skills.
