An exciting opportunity awaits you as Ground and On-board Safety and Quality Manager in our Operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality delivery across the end-to-end logistics and onboard catering service chain. It oversees quality assurance, safety and compliance standards, manages performance through data-driven insights, and leads continuous improvement initiatives using lean and process optimisation methodologies.
The role also ensures robust safety management across people, food and ground operations, coordinates the maintenance and compliance of catering equipment and assets with internal and external stakeholders, and delivers comprehensive quality and safety monitoring and audit programmes. This permanent position is based in our London Kings Cross office, with hybrid working. It is expected the successful candidate may need to travel up to 3 days per week.
Requirements:
- Oversee and enforce compliance and quality assurance measures throughout the logistics and on board service delivery chain to ensure all processes meet established safety standards and company policies.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators related to logistics operations in order to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that support continuous enhancement of service quality.
- Identify and lead the implementation of opportunities for logistic continuous improvement through lean methodologies and process optimisation.
- Manage the safety protocols throughout the entire chain of production of the catering service (including people safety, food safety and ground safety).
- Coordinate the management and maintenance of equipment and assets used in catering logistics operations with internal and external stakeholders, in order to maximize operational reliability and ensure all assets meet regulatory and safety requirements.
- Manage the quality and safety monitoring and audit plan throughout the entire chain of production.
- Set and manage budgets with OBS providers in partnership with finance & procurement and through establishment of effective relationships, contract management governance and regular review meetings.
- Ensure quality standards are achieved at budgeted costs and to Service Level Agreements.
- Project manage key OBS initiatives to improve service delivery and operational excellence as and when required.
You will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Transport industry.
- Fluent English and French language skills.
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or onboard/catering operations with a strong focus on quality assurance and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and enforce safety standards across people, food and ground operations.
- Experience monitoring, analysing and reporting on operational KPIs to drive service quality improvements.
- Strong background in continuous improvement, including lean methodologies and process optimisation.
- Experience managing equipment and asset maintenance in regulated operational environments, working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Capability to plan, manage and deliver quality and safety audits across an end-to-end production or service delivery chain.
