An exciting opportunity awaits you as RAMS Manager in our Rolling Stock team. The RAMS Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety activities across engineering workstreams for the Eurostar fleets. This is a strategic role that sits within the projects team, ensuring that systems and products meet regulatory, safety, operational and technical standards throughout their lifecycle, applying recognised RAMS and systems engineering methodologies to support decision‑making and fleet performance. This is a permanent role based at our Temple Mills depot in Leyton. Hybrid working is available, with the expectation you attend site a minimum of 3 days per week.
We’re looking for someone to:
- Lead reliability improvement initiatives with the functional engineering teams, utilising FRACAS, RCA and reliability predictions, prioritising workstreams based on data provided by performance data.
- Improve fleet availability by optimising maintenance cycles, spare‑parts readiness, logistics, obsolescence management and whole‑life reviews.
- Enhance maintainability by influencing design decisions, reducing MTTR, optimising maintenance regimes/VMS, and driving condition‑based and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Drive continuous improvement through LCC modelling, workflow optimisation, Lean opportunities, and innovation to reduce downtime and total life cost.
- Ensure safety by identifying hazards, leading safety assessments, producing safety cases, and supporting engineering on‑call and incident processes.
- Prepare and review RAMS documentation, safety cases and technical assurance reports, ensuring full traceability through systems engineering processes.
- Contribute to audits, design reviews, hazard logs, risk registers, FRACAS databases and safety‑related documentation.
- Ensure a smooth transition and industrialisation from project to BAU with our production teams.
- Support business case development for senior leadership submissions.
You’ll need:
- Degree in an engineering‑related discipline, with professional registration at Incorporated Engineer level or above (or working towards Chartered).
- 5–8 years’ experience in RAMS activities, rail vehicles, and maintenance workstreams.
- Advanced knowledge of RAMS engineering standards and application of recognised methodologies across the asset lifecycle.
- Strong capability in reliability analytics tools including FRACAS, FMECA, FTA, and RCA techniques.
- Proven experience in rolling stock maintenance, including maintenance plan evolution, exam balancing, RCM, hybrid/CBM strategies, LCC and reliability‑driven techniques.
- Strong soft skills including communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to lead RAMS activities across engineering workstreams, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, operational, and technical standards.
