Amazon’s Brand Innovation Lab is looking for a talented and passionate Conceptual Creative (Art Director) to create one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of brands across our European locales. You’ll partner with art directors, copywriters, designers, solutions managers, and producers to create first-class customer experiences both on and offline by innovating with the Amazon canvas (Prime Video, Alexa, Twitch, etc.). You’ll lead projects and own client relationships, focusing on creating work that benefits the end customer while pushing the creative envelope from brief to execution, with a focus on our partnerships and sponsorships offering. This is a perm role.

From ideation through launch, you will be responsible for delivering ambitious, insightful, and data-driven concepts that translate needs and constraints into customer-focused brand campaign ideas and solutions. You will be equally strong at concept and execution, articulating end-to-end experiences, and turning that vision into high-quality experiences. This could include video content, user interface designs for voice and screen, interaction models, prototypes, and interactive advertising campaigns. This role will use data and insights to create campaign strategy and concepts, develop designs and the look and feel for experiences, as well as templates for never-before-done brand campaigns and experiences that will solve customer problems, on and off Amazon platforms. Candidates should be able to deliver high-quality designs and stellar art direction for campaigns across different Amazon touchpoints. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Figma and Webflow, (or an interest to learn Webflow). For this role, we’re looking for a conceptual art director who also has strong design skills and an understanding of UX design.

The Conceptual Creative (Art Director) candidate’s portfolio should feature highly creative, award-winning campaigns and ideas that solve customer and advertiser problems through a variety of different media channels, including but not limited to video, social, digital activations, radio, and outdoor. You have strong conceptual, presentation, storytelling, and time management skills, as well as digital media experience, insight-driven and strategic thinking, and of course, an acute attention to detail.

Key job responsibilities
  • Concept, design (art), and execute innovative ad campaigns and experiences for global brands.
  • Partner with copywriters, designers, program managers, developers, strategists, and producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on advertiser objectives.
  • Independently lead campaigns from brief to execution and collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external agency partners.
  • Obsessed with understanding customers and making work that delivers both innovation and results.
  • Present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally.
  • Proven ability to ideate for film, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential, and social.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once within budget and deadlines.
  • Be proactive in developing new products and ideas on behalf of the customer.

A day in the life:

  • Partnering with a variety of brands, media, and creative agencies to work on innovative campaigns for Automotive, finance, energy, and telecommunication.
  • From designing brand experiences from documentary films in Prime Video to Alexa branded experiences, you will always strive to create never-before-done ideas.
  • Presenting a campaign to brand clients and their partners in creative and media agencies.
  • Reviewing edits and work in progress with your partners, collecting and responding to feedback in order to meet the highest creative standards.
  • Work with your team on proactive projects and initiatives and bring them to life.

The Brand Innovation Lab is Amazon' Ads Innovation team dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers. Leveraging the full Amazon canvas: custom landing pages, Alexa, Fire TV, Twitch, Prime Video, and more. We build campaigns that reach millions of customers across digital channels and in the real world.
