My client is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Transport Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of their refrigerated and UK/European haulage operations. This is a senior, hands-on position where you’ll ensure the transport function operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will be confident stepping into a role where no two days are the same, and where continuous improvement is a core expectation. You will work closely with the team to review, refine, and enhance operational processes across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support daily transport operations across UK and European routes.
- Oversee driver performance, route planning, scheduling, and vehicle utilisation.
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including WTD, tachograph rules, and cross-border regulations.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational issues, offering prompt, effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the site team to review current processes and introduce improvements.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment meet all safety and maintenance requirements.
- Produce detailed operational reports and performance updates for senior leadership.
- Provide occasional on-call support via phone as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- CPC in Transport Management (essential).
- Strong background in transport operations, ideally within refrigerated or temperature-controlled logistics.
- Experience in European haulage highly desirable but not essential.
- Proven experience in a senior or managerial transport role.
