Europlan Group is seeking to establish a full-time field-based agent with a sustained on-the-ground presence with clients across key energy projects across Ireland and the UK. The Business Development Manager will act as Europlan’s primary point of contact, building commercial relationships, and identifying opportunities aligned with our engineering capabilities, and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and secure sales opportunities within the energy sector and its associated supply chain network.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.
- Track and monitor procurement updates, contract awards, and framework opportunities.
- Represent the company at related industry events, supplier days, and networking forums.
- Coordinate internally with engineering and technical teams to ensure project feasibility and capacity alignment.
- Support preparation of bids, tenders, and proposals aligned with client’s quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Provide market intelligence and field insights to inform company strategy and positioning within the nuclear and infrastructure sectors.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with Europlan’s engineering capabilities.
- Develop strategic account plans and maintain a visible pipeline within Europlan’s CRM system.
- Lead outreach, including C-suite and business unit head engagements.
- Support RFI/RFP responses, proposal strategy, and bid/no-bid decisions.
- Produce regular market intelligence and competitor insights for Europlan leadership.
- To have market presence ensuring early access to upcoming framework opportunities and work packages.
Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in sales or business development within the energy, engineering, or nuclear infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially driven, proactive, and capable of navigating complex procurement environments.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related work.
Desirable
- Familiarity with project procurement processes and compliance standards.
- Experience collaborating with EPC/EPCM contractors and engineering consultancies.
- Understanding of large-scale infrastructure project lifecycles and documentation requirements.
- Understanding of project finance, EPC contracts, and joint venture structures.
