Europlan Group is a leading international engineering and project services company, delivering innovative, safety-driven solutions to the energy and industrial sectors. We have been awarded the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) contract for the development of a subsea power cable manufacturing facility at the Port of Nigg in the Scottish Highlands, in partnership with Japanese multinational company Sumitomo Electric. This landmark project will deliver critical infrastructure to strengthen supply chains for the offshore wind and renewable energy sectors, supporting the UK’s transition to clean energy.
The Role
We provide accommodation, full onsite support, and rotation flights back to Ireland every second weekend to support a balanced work-life schedule. As Resident Civil Engineer, you will be the on-site technical lead for all civil engineering activities. Acting as the link between the design office and construction teams, you will ensure that all civil works are executed safely, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect civil works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison between the design office and on-site teams.
- Address technical queries (RFIs) and resolve discrepancies between design and site conditions.
- Ensure contractors correctly interpret and implement designs.
- Provide hands-on technical support and practical engineering solutions.
- Track progress and prepare detailed site reports for management and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive site records, inspections, and documentation.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards and promote a strong safety culture.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred but not essential).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred or working towards chartered status with Engineers Ireland, ICE, or equivalent.
- Experience in site-based civil engineering roles, ideally within infrastructure or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and civil engineering standards.
- Experience bridging design office and construction site operations.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Willingness to be permanently based on-site, with occasional travel as required.
