About the role

Our client is a leading whisky cask investment company based in Edinburgh, helping private clients buy, store, and eventually sell casks of maturing Scotch. They manage a substantial portfolio for clients across dozens of countries and are recognised as one of the more trusted, transparent operators in this growing alternative asset space. They are now looking for a driven, relationship-focused Private Client Executive to join their sales team as they continue to scale. This is a genuine business development role with warm-lead advantage: you'll have access to an existing database of thousands of customers, alongside the scope to build and own your personal client book from the ground up. You'll be the primary point of contact for clients navigating cask ownership, whether purchasing for personal enjoyment or as an investment, guiding them with clarity, honesty, and a consultative approach. You'll manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. No prior whisky industry experience is required; full training is provided.

What matters most is a strong foundation in high value sales, relationship management, or client-facing business development, ideally within luxury or alternative assets (fine wine, art, classic cars, watches, or similar).

What you will be doing:

  • Proactively researching and identifying high net worth individuals and potential investors through referrals, networking, industry events, and targeted outreach.
  • Educating clients on cask ownership and the secondary whisky market, presenting tailored proposals aligned to their objectives.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close, including objection handling.
  • Building and growing a personal client list through warm leads and self-sourced new business.
  • Nurturing relationships with existing clients post-sale to drive repeat purchases, portfolio expansion, and referrals.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, tracking deal flow, and forecasting revenue against personal targets.
  • Ensuring all client conversations around investment potential are accurate, balanced, and compliant, prioritising trust over short-term sales pressure.
  • Working closely with operations and client services to ensure a seamless client experience.

What we are looking for:

  • Confidence discussing high value physical assets with clarity and credibility.
  • A track record of building trusted, long-term client relationships.
  • Comfort proactively sourcing new business through networking, referrals, and outreach.
  • Proven ability to manage prospects from first contact through to close.
  • Strong personal discipline around pipeline management and CRM accuracy.
  • Comfort working with high net worth individuals.
  • Willingness to learn how to communicate investment potential responsibly and accurately.
  • An established personal network is an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience in luxury or alternative asset sales (cars, watches, art, wine, etc.) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Scotch whisky industry is a bonus but not essential.

What's on offer:

  • Base salary of £26,500 to £30,000 depending on experience.
  • Uncapped commission, with realistic first year OTE of £60,000 to £100,000.
  • Top performers currently earning £7,000+ per month in commission.
  • Full training provided, no whisky background required.
  • A genuine warm-lead advantage from day one.

Please note this role is unable to offer visa sponsorship, and candidates should ideally be based within commuting distance of Edinburgh.
