IT Support Engineer – Onsite / 2nd Line / Inside IR35

We\’re supporting a leading global semiconductor company in their search for an IT On-Site Support Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. You\’ll play a key role in providing hands-on technical support across hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within a complex technical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, analyse, and troubleshoot IT hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Support incidents, service requests, and VIP users while coordinating with global IT teams.
  • Manage installations, upgrades, and decommissioning of laptops, servers, and network equipment.
  • Handle printer support, stock control, and IT waste disposal.
  • Support conference room and audio/video systems, including setup and maintenance.
  • Assist with site-level implementation of global IT projects.
  • Provide server room support, including installation and patching.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge base updates.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in on-site IT support or desktop support roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, device lifecycle, and AV systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with distributed teams.
