Our client, a leading semiconductor company, is looking for an Embedded Systems Security Engineer to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland. This is an opportunity to work on innovative security mechanisms across hardware and firmware, helping to shape the security architecture of next generation embedded devices.
Your Role
- Define and link security mechanisms to functional requirements, including innovative security mechanisms in hardware and firmware.
- Assess and review security solution implementations.
- Propose secure hardware and software IP, balancing power, area, and performance constraints.
- Coordinate and conduct pre-silicon and post-silicon vulnerability analysis and risk assessments of hardware security architectures.
- Investigate the root cause of security defects.
- Interface with customers, evaluation labs, and product development teams.
- Innovate solutions to security related problems alongside the wider team.
- Stay current with best practices and developments in the SoC/IC security industry.
- Provide advice and training to the development team on security design, implementation, integration, and verification.
- Support security certification and the application of internal security maturity processes.
Your Profile
- BSEE, MSEE, or PhD, ideally in Security Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
- Good knowledge of SoC/IC architectures for embedded devices.
- Good knowledge of designing and developing embedded secure systems.
- Understanding of embedded firmware and software and its interaction with hardware.
- Strong interest in security with the ability to learn quickly.
- Good knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (SystemVerilog, VHDL), synthesis, schematics, and layout.
- Ability to educate and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Strong communicator, team player, and results driven.
- Strong background in security concepts and principles, including cryptography, fault injection, and side channel attacks.
- Experience designing and developing embedded secure system architectures and/or security related IP.
- Knowledge of security certification schemes (e.g. Common Criteria, SESIP, FIPS, OSCCA) and international security standards (e.g. ISO21434, IEC62443).
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
