We are partnered with a global leader in the semiconductor industry. The team is looking to hire an Embedded Systems Security Engineer to define security mechanisms, assess implementations, and drive vulnerability analysis across hardware and firmware for next-generation SoC designs. This is a permanent opportunity based in Graz, Austria or Glasgow, UK.

Key responsibilities for this position:

  • Define and link security mechanisms to functional requirements across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Assess and review security solution implementations and propose secure hardware and software IP.
  • Coordinate and conduct pre- and post-silicon vulnerability analysis and risk assessments of hardware security architectures.
  • Investigate root causes of security defects and drive resolution.
  • Interface with customers, evaluation labs, and product development teams.
  • Provide advice and training to development teams on security design, implementation, and verification.

Key requirements:

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Security Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Good knowledge of SoC/IC architectures and embedded secure system design.
  • Understanding of embedded firmware/software and its interaction with hardware.
  • Proficiency in Hardware Description Languages (SystemVerilog, VHDL), synthesis, and schematics.
  • Background in cryptography, Fault Injection, or Side-Channel Attacks advantageous.
  • Knowledge of security certification schemes (Common Criteria, SESIP, FIPS) and standards (ISO21434, IEC62443) a plus.
