Electronics Engineer – PCB / Packaging
A leading semiconductor innovator is seeking an experienced Electronics PCB Engineer to join its Hardware Platforms/PCB Team. This role focuses on creating hardware development platforms based on cutting-edge SoC and FPGA technologies, used internally and by our external partners/customers for software development and validation.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Cambridge, United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities for this Electronics Engineer position:
- Spearhead PCB development in collaboration with the chip packaging team.
- Develop breakout strategies and perform Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis.
- Contribute to hardware platform specification, development, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with program teams to plan and schedule tasks, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
Key Requirements:
- High-speed design expertise, including PCB stack-ups and routing topologies.
- Experience partnering with chip packaging teams, advising on SoC pinouts, and performing escape routing analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of SI and PI analysis from board design and chip packaging perspectives.
- Hands-on experience with embedded system board design and high-speed IO interface standards (e.g., PCIe, DDR).
- Familiarity with design tools such as Cadence CIS, Mentor PADs Layout, Allegro PCB design suite, and Hyperlynx.
- Experience automating processes like decoupling capacitor optimization, DCR, SI, and IC placement.
