You will be joining an established team within a world-leading technology company at their lab in Edinburgh. We are looking for a visionary engineer to pioneer the intersection of environmental perception and on-device machine intelligence. You will be instrumental in developing the fundamental models that empower consumer electronics to comprehend their physical environment and interpret localized data, effectively creating the next generation of map architectures driven exclusively by edge computing.
As an AI Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Multimodal Model Optimization: Adapt and refine sophisticated foundational models to perform effectively on consumer-grade edge hardware, tailored for specific, high-stakes application environments.
- Geospatial Reasoning Systems: Architect prototypes that convert complex geographic data into structured, actionable formats capable of being processed by Large Language Model (LLM) reasoning engines.
- High-Performance Vector Retrieval: Develop advanced data retrieval frameworks that are specifically tuned for distributed spatial and geographic datasets.
- Semantic Enrichment Pipelines: Build and manage data flows that integrate real-time semantic context into traditional mapping systems.
- Proof-of-Concept Development: Engineer comprehensive, operational demonstrations to validate new model capabilities and conceptual frameworks.
As an AI Engineer your skills will include:
- Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
